I’m a visual artist and researcher based in Berlin, Germany. I make illustrations, comics and videos, and I research manga and anime through the lens of sociology.
My works offer commentary on cultural, political, social and economic issues in Western societies. They are influenced by sci-fi, cyberpunk, manga, anime, noir comics and the online world.
I tell stories to portray the human condition, fostering empathy and emotional resonance with the audience, but also exploring existentialist themes, moral complexities or societal disillusionment.
As a researcher, I have an interest in popular culture and society. Particularly, I seek to understand how entertainment media reflect and influence some of the public discourses, social phenomena, identities, cultural norms, etc.
I focus on manga and anime because I have a soft spot for them, and I examine their interplay with online culture, which has always been a significant part of my life.
I am a certified historical guide in Berlin, where I provide tours looking into WWI and II, the Nazi period, the Cold War and their impact on the city’s contemporary society. I work often in concept art development, graphic design or teaching, and I have a long history of freelancing (if you want to know more about my background, here’s my resume).
When I’m not buried in papers—whether for drawing or research—, I try to practice violin and piano, which I’ve been learning since 2019. Follow me on social media and you might eventually catch me playing a concert with my noise music project.
I also practice Muay Thai. I’m obsessed with saunas, thermal baths, and sashimi, and I always say “please” and “thank you” to ChatGPT.
